<<What mulitiplication fact can you double to find 4 x 7>>

To see these kind of questions is very frustrating for me.
What are they teaching these kids???

Why not just have them learn what 4x7 is ????

LOL - well I must confess that as my brain wastes away I often do stuff like multiply 2 by 14 to find 4*7

(actually I am more likely to add 7 to 21, but that is another story)

To find the multiplication fact that can be doubled to find 4 x 7, we can use the concept of the commutative property of multiplication. The commutative property states that the order of the factors does not affect the product. Therefore, we can rearrange the multiplication expression to find an equivalent expression.

Let's start with 4 x 7. We want to find a multiplication fact that, when doubled, gives us this product.

To do this, we can divide 4 x 7 by 2.

If we divide 4 x 7 by 2, we get (4 x 7) / 2 = 28 / 2 = 14.

So, to find the multiplication fact that can be doubled to find 4 x 7, we double the quotient 14.

Therefore, the multiplication fact that we can double to find 4 x 7 is 14.
