a . rather then taking the elevator a a 65kg student decided to climb 276m vertical height of stairs to the observation deck of the effiel tower. How much work does the student do against gravity climbing to this level?

b. It's estimate that 1kg of fat will provide 3.8x10^7 J kg energy. If the body's efficiency in converting energy stored as fat to mechanical energy is 25% determine the mass of fat the climber will use up in providing the energy required to work against Gracie

Okay so for a I did:
Fg= mg
=9.8x65
+637N

W=pxd
= 37x276
I'm not sure if that's right or not. And then for b I assumed that you'd take your answer for a and divide it by 25% and then divide that by 3.8x10^7? But again I don't really get it

I really appreciate the help, thank you

work is energy

your work is correct

you might have dropped a digit in the W equation

not sure why you don't think you get it...
