  1. The quotient is the answer to a division problem. The remainder is what is left over after you've divided the whole numbers.

    68 divided by 5 = 13 with a remainder of 3.

  2. 68 divided by 5 I suspect. I do not think you are doing fractions yet.
    **_1_____
    5 |68
    ***5x five into six once
    ------
    ***18 6-5 is 1 and bring down 8

**_13_____ five into 18 three times
    5 |68
    ***5x
    ------
    ***18 6-5 is 1 and bring down 8
***15 three times five is 15
    -----
    ****3 left over as R = 3
    so answer is 13 3/5
