I don't know how to explain this in English, can anyone please help me? ;(
The process is to one can do the same thing to any equation, (except divide by zero).
first, subtract 19.3 from each side.
Then divide each side by 14.2
You should have done this:
y=14.2x+19.3
542 = 14.2x+19.3
542-19.3 = 14.2x+19.3-19.3

522.7/14.2 = 14.2x/14.2
