How does the choice of a manager for an international assignment differ from the choice of a manager for an assignment in the person¡¯s home country?
First of all, it would be advantageous for that manager to speak the language of the country where he/she is to be posted. Is the family willing and able to move? What about schools for the children, if there are any. Does that manager understand the culture and customs of the country assignment?
