My granddaughter had this assignment recently, and she says it's about 50-50! That is, about half of her classmates who used straws ended up with broken eggs, but the other half didn't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
wow, that just made me worried about my project... my egg project looks more of a truck and i placed square cubes
at the front of the egg with straws attached to it, unfortunately im not sure how to place the photo of the experiment online
She said that the ones that did work had some sort of cushion on the ends, like balloons or cotton balls. If it's only straws, the force of the impact will crush the straws and the egg with it.
Oh, sweet bubble wrap....
Schools/teachers make new rules as time goes by!! Bubble-wrap is on the "not allowed" list at my granddaughter's school nowadays!
