Need help withe "Who" and "Whom"

I have no clue as to which do I use when.

I know you use who as a subject pronoun. And use whome as a object pronoun. But I just can't figure when to use which.

Any insight would be helpful.

First look for the verb. Then you can usually figure out which word is the subject and which is the object. Of course, whom is also used as the object of a preposition.

The tough ones come when the correct construction is awkward and often not used in informal writing and speech.

A favorite is:

Who are you talking to?

Technically this is incorrect because sentences should not end with a preposition. It should be:

To whom are you talking?
