Divide the price by the number of cans.
10.88 / 7 = $1.55 per can
Do the others the same way.
So, A is the best buy: $10.88 for 7 cans of tuna. Technically, you can tell that's the answer just buy looking at it, because who wants to buy a whole can for a dollar (because the other answers raise it to about a dollar a can)? so C is the answer because it would be 1.91??
When we go to the supermarket, with four similar items at different prices and packaging, we need to find the unit price of EACH of the four items in order to determine the best (lowest) unit price.
Unit price can be found by the formula
unit price = price / number of units or size
Ms. Sue already gave an example that the first item's unit price is 10.88/7=$1.55 per can.
She also suggested you to calculate the 3 remaining prices in order to find the least expensive price.
You have come up with a price of $1.91 which is 36 cents more expensive than the first case, which means that you have not been comparing prices.
You need to calculate the three remaining prices and find the least expensive (best) price of the four in order to solve this problem.

For each possible divide the cost by the amount of cans
so...
A. 10.88/7=1.55
B. 11.55/6=1.93
C. 17.25/9=1.92
D. 15.31/8=1.91
so A would be the cheapest, I know other people already answered this but incase other questions like this come up, rather than searching them use this strategy. Also, yes I did look it up I just wanted to check my answers because these kind of questions are my favorite :)
