I tried answering this and pending how I read it I get several answers. Any help out there

1. A box of crackers has a mass of p kilograms. When empty, the box
has a mass of 200 grams. What is the total mass of the crackers in
5 such boxes? Express your answer in kilograms.

Well there is 1000 kilograms in each gram.

0.20 kg × 1000
= 200 g
But for 1 box it would be 0.20

But now you got to do it for 5 boxes. So you are going to have to multiply.

0.20 x 5 = 1

Answer:
Then you turn that into (1 kilogram) into a gram again. And you would get 1,000

To find the total mass of the crackers in 5 boxes, we need to determine the mass of a single box of crackers.

Given that the box of crackers has a mass of p kilograms and when empty, the box has a mass of 200 grams, we can write:

Mass of the box of crackers = p kilograms
Mass of the empty box = 200 grams = 0.2 kilograms (since 1 kilogram = 1000 grams)

To find the mass of the crackers in a single box, we subtract the mass of the empty box from the total mass of the box of crackers:

Mass of crackers in a single box = Mass of the box of crackers - Mass of the empty box
Mass of crackers in a single box = p kilograms - 0.2 kilograms
Mass of crackers in a single box = (p - 0.2) kilograms

Now, to find the total mass of the crackers in 5 boxes, we simply multiply the mass of crackers in a single box by 5:

Total mass of crackers in 5 boxes = 5 * (p - 0.2) kilograms
Total mass of crackers in 5 boxes = 5p - 1 kilograms

Therefore, the total mass of the crackers in 5 such boxes can be expressed as 5p - 1 kilograms.
