  26. Thank you so freaking much guys, you are a total live-saver! Completely saved my grade! Here are the written questions that I wrote, don't just copy and paste, read them and put them in your own words so the teachers don't catch you. Also you can learn this way about the question asked.

    15. As the twentieth century progressed, the Vice President has gained more power, not too much, but just enough to go from just being the backup of the President, to someone who can make the President's job easier.

    16. A President might make an executive agreement rather than negotiate a formal treaty because it takes action immediately. When using a treaty, it has to have the approval of the Senate, which takes a long time. When the President uses a executive agreement, it acts as a temporary treaty, one that is in place of the treaty until a formal treaty is drawn up and approved by the Senate. An advantage of this is that it doesn't require the full time and process of trying to get a treaty passed through the Senate. But a disadvantage of this is the official treaty might be different than the executive agreement, which can cause chaos with the changing of the executive agreement to the official treaty.

    17. The checks and balances is the system that the U.S. uses to keep the three powers of the government in check. Each of the three branches, Judicial Branch, Executive Branch, and Legislative Branch, can keep tabs on the other two branches, and stop or impede if needs be. If Congress passes a bill and the President deems it either unethical or unneeded, he can Veto the bill. But with the majority of votes from Congress, the Veto can be overridden and the bill passed. Also, if the President issues an Executive Order, the Judicial branch has the power to evaluate this order, and if it is deemed going against the Constitution, they can render this order useless, or invalid.

    Cheers!
