Hydrocarbons with octane number 78% and 73%, by comparing their burning abilities, which one can burn smoothly? And why?
1 answer
both burn smoothly, if you mean burn. the lower octane in explosive combustion, as in an auto engine, probably has more long chain carbon molecules which will not "explode" as fast, and the engine will "knock" more.
