1 How many faces does a square pyramid have?
2 How many edges does a square pyramid have?
3 How many vertices does a square pyramid have?

answer? 8, 5, 10

Viualize one of the great pyramids of Egypt.
It's base is a square and it has four sides. So the total number of faces is 5.

There are 4 edges along the base and 4 edges along the sides, for a total of 8

There are 4 vertices along the base and one at the top, so 5 in total.

Even though the square pyramid is the one most people think of when they hear the word, in math any 3D shape that sits on a base and comes to a single vertex is called a "pyramid".
for example, you could have a pyramid with a hexagon as its base
