In a sponsored walk for charity, 560 students participated. Of these, 0.72% completed the 15-km walk. How many students completed the walk?

Um 0.72% as a decimal is 0.0072, and since 0.72% is even 1% it makes sense that it’s 4 people. How ever, chances are , I will not be believed . This question is from the Alberta 2009 math booklet from the unit review questions section. Good luck , like if 30 people ran the race and 0.8 percent finished it, then your answer=

0.008 X 30 , it equals 0.24. Use the 1 percent method

Actually, on the sheet I have, it says 0.72%

Well, I guess it'll do. Thanks for your help.

To find out how many students completed the walk, we need to calculate 0.72% of the total number of participants.

Step 1: Convert the percentage to decimal form.
0.72% is equivalent to 0.0072 in decimal form.

Step 2: Multiply the decimal form by the total number of participants.
0.0072 x 560 = 4.032

Therefore, approximately 4 students completed the 15-km walk.

I assume you mean 72%, not 0.72%.

0.72 * 560 = 403.

Whoever wrote the sheet made a mistake.

0.0072 * 560 = 4

It doesn't make sense that only 4 students completed the walk.
