I just looked back at the question... it's 28 because it says how much shorter is the distance. This means you have to SUBTRACT how Craig got it. Craig got it by finding the distance from Ferris to Dunlap to Butte, but we're trying to figure out how much shorter it is to go directly to Butte. So what you would do is, since the diagram (I know we can't post it so I'll just describe it) says that Ferris to Dunlap is 42 miles and Dunlap to Butte is 56 miles, you add those together to get 98, now subtract that 70 miles from before when you probably used the Pythagorean Theorum to find out it was 70 miles to go straight to Butte. This will be written as 98-70=? Now you gotta subtract it to get 28, and 28 is the answer because it represents how many miles shorter it is to go straight to Butte.

I'm actually here to know how it's solved too. I just completed the Quiz and got it wrong, I got 70 since I used the Pythagorean Theorum, so I'm here trying to figure out how the heck the answer was 28.
