Our instructor has asked us to read Alice Munros "fits" short story, I read it multiple times like 4 times and I'm really confused . Can someone explain what happened in the story cause I'm left with many questions in my mind but no answers . Did peg kill the old couple? How did they die? Did pegs ex husband commit suicide ? Or just leave? I'm really lost and I have tried to find a summary online but still clueless . Please help :)

I've never read that story, but try this:

Certainly! I'd be happy to help you understand the story. However, as an AI, I don't have direct access to specific texts like Alice Munro's "fits" short story. But I can try to provide some guidance on how to analyze a story like this and find answers to your questions.

1. Close Reading: To understand the story better, it is crucial to do a close reading. Read the story actively, paying attention to details, characters' actions, dialogue, and any patterns or repetitions. Note any clues or specific points that may help you answer your questions.

2. Identify Themes and Motifs: Look for recurring themes, symbols, or motifs in the story. These can provide insights into the characters' motivations and the overall meaning of the text.

3. Analyze Characters: Focus on understanding the main characters, their relationships, and their development throughout the story. Try to identify their desires, conflicts, and actions that may provide clues to answer your questions.

4. Interpretation: After considering the story's elements, form your interpretation of what happened. Remember that literature often leaves room for interpretation, so there could be multiple valid interpretations.

5. Seek Outside Resources: If you're still unclear about certain aspects of the story, seek additional resources. Consult literary analyses, online forums, or even your classmates to gain different perspectives and insights.

Remember, understanding a complex story like this may require multiple readings and discussions. Be patient with the process, and don't hesitate to ask your instructor or classmates for help as well.
