To make green paint, Jeff's art teacher instructed him to mix blue and yellow paint. To make the desired shade of green, the ratio of blue paint to yellow paint is 3:4. What the does the ratio 3:4 mean?

a. 4 parts yellow for every 3 parts blue
b. 4 parts blue for every 3 parts yellow
c. 3 parts blue for every 4 parts total
d. 3 parts yellow for every 4 parts total.

My answer would be d.
Am I correct?

No. The total is 7, not 4

Pardon me. I believe I got the wrong answer I believe the answer would be C because they say in the word problem the ratio of blue paint to yellow paint.

Can you please check my answer.

So then would the answer be C?

No!

No. The total is 7.

Yes I know the total is 7 because 3 plus 4=7 but they are only asking the multiple choice answers

ratio of blue paint to yellow paint is 3:4

4 parts yellow for every 3 parts blue

its say in the question the ratio ratio of blue paint to yellow paint, so there are 3 blue parts for 4 yellows parts.
The answers you are choosing is 4 parts total but there are 7 parts total so that wouldn't make sense.
