There is one equation, Newton's second law.
Force = rate of change of momentum or if the mass is constant
F = m A
which is mass times acceleration
F = .5kg * 4 m/s^2 = 2 Newtons
2 Newtons = 20 A
A = 2/20 = 0.1 m/s^2
