Sinea and Ren are going to the carnival next week. The table shows the amount that each person spent on snacks, games and souvenirs the last time they went to the carnival.

Sinea= Snacks $5.00; Games $8.00; Souvenirs $12.00
Ren=Snacks 10; Games $8.00; Souvenirs; $20.00

a. Sinea wants to spend money using the same ratios as on her last trip to the carnival. If she spends $26.00 on games, how much will she spend on souvenirs?

b. Ren wants to spend money using the same ratios as on his last trip to the carnival. If he spends $5.00 on souvenirs, how much will he spend on snacks?

I am very confused on how to figure out part a and b. Please help me.

a. ratio-12/8 so if she spends 26 on games, she must spend 12/8 *26 on souveniors

b. so if Ren spends 5 bucks on souvenirs, then she spends 2.5 on snacks. ratio=20/10

Would the answer for part a. be $6.00

I am actually changing my answer to part a. to $13.00 but I am still confused on part a and b

yes, 12/8 of 26

Well if I do 12/8x26/1=312/8=39

How can that be correct?

I think the answer for part a is 39.

ren spent 1.5 times as much on souvenours as games. If she spends 26 on gams, then she must spend 26+13 on souvenours, =39 dollars.

For part b wouldn't the answer be just $2.00?

No it would be $2.50 because I just figured out how to get to that answer but part a is still confusing a bit to me.

36.00
