Write a two-column proof.

Given: 7y=8x-14; y=6

Prove: x=7

I need help making a two-column proof with the statements and the reasons, please! Thank you! ( This is what I have so far)

Statements | Reasons

1. 7y=8x-14;y=6 | Given

2. 7(6)=8x-14 | Substitution

3. ????|????

4. ????|????

5. x=7| ????

(I just stopped at 5 for right, that's not the exact steps I think the two-column proof actually has)

Thank you again for whoever helps me! Be Blessed

Given - 7y=8x-14 : y=6

Substitution Property - 7(6)=8x-14
Distributive Property - 8x-14=42
Addition Property - 8x=56
Division Property - x=7

Id rather be sleeping rn but instead i have 58 overdue assignments to do kill me

dude i hate geometry algebra is way easier to cheat

I find it funny this a 10th grade math question, and this was 5 years ago, the person who asked it dude/girl prob 20 by now lool

To me a two column proof is usually associated with Euclidean Geometry.

To use it here in this rather simplistic problem is like using a sledge hammer to drive in a finishing nail ...

here is what I would do
7y=8x-14; y=6

then:
42 = 8x - 14
56 = 8x
x = 56/8 = 7

There! I have proven it.

All that other stuff is just "word salad" to me.

Same welp same and I only have 7 days to complete them UGHHH

@yurr FR I hate it so much

Off topic but does that does connections academy want to be friends? I have no one to talk to or play video games with.
