I am needing to find information on identifying the linquistic, political, social economic, religious and familial conventions of four hispancic groups living in america one Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, and Latinos can anyone help me where to get started on this i have no idea where to go and get started

First of all, "Latinos" refers to all of them; it's treated as a synonym to "hispanic" these days. So here's a slightly revised list for you:

Mexican Americans
Puerto Ricans
Cuban Americans
Salvadoran Americans

Now ... as for searching ...

Learning how to conduct thorough and effective searches for yourself is an important skill, online or offline (in a library!). That's what research is, and I'm sure that's what your teacher expects you to do -- conduct research. You must also be prepared for the fact that not all of it may be online. Or some may be, and some may not.

At this webpage, you can go immediately to the search sites (first three columns across the top) -- or even better you can scroll down until you see the section called HOW TO SEARCH THE INTERNET. Those are the links to start with. You'll not only learn how to come up with good search terms, but also how to evaluate the webpages you get as results. Some will be good and others will be garbage. You need to know how to tell the difference.

My favorite way to search is to go to Google's advanced search page ( http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en ) and put my search words or phrases into the first or second search box (either "all the words" or "exact phrase"). However, there many other strategies for searching you can use, and the HOW TO SEARCH THE INTERNET section on the sou.edu webpage will help you best.

I'm posting this message to you in the spirit of this: If you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day; if you teach a man to fish, he will eat for his lifetime.

Happy searching!

=)

You must be attending WIU, too!

Apparently there are several of us having the same problem. This class has been really hard. I work full time and I am starting my own business on the side. I have really been struggling with taking two classes why trying to balance the other important things in my life. This is the first class that I have had to write so many papers for. This is really hard. Oh well, my wife tells me that is what college is all about.

I have been struggling for 3 day trying to write this paper. I am frustrated and overwhelmed. My paper is already late.

I have the same problem. Some information seem kind of hard to find and my paper is now 3 days late.

I went to ask and found several things by typing in Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans politcal,...
things of that nature. I agree this has been a hard paper to write and the hardest class i have had so far. Alot of reading and writing,YUCK!
Good luck all.

I feel all of you....1000 words due now....another 1500 due in 2 weeks...I am sooooo burnt out on this class and cant wait for it to be over!!!!!!!

Suck it up. This is weak.

This sucks!!! This Class is really hard. This paper sucks is now one day late...

I normally don't have a problem writing a paper until my teacher asked me to write on four hispanics dealing with their politics and so forth, I must admit this is hard and it is due tonight and I haven't even started!

what is hispanic american diversity

lol i have the same assignment and i find it quite easy. It is only hard if you make it hard. Keep searching you will find the answers. try looking them up in encylodpedias

I feel so stress out because of this homework that I've been thinking about dropping out, but that is not the solution, let's do our best and whether we find all the information or not we should focus on the style I think they would like to see how is our writing style before we turn in our last project. Good luck to all....

thanks so much for this post!

Hi Im doing the same report the best thing to do is use bing and type in Hispanic American diversity and it will bring up all that you need good luck......

I understand that writing a paper on a topic you're not familiar with can be challenging. In this case, researching and gathering information on the linguistic, political, socio-economic, religious, and familial conventions of four Hispanic groups in America can seem overwhelming. But don't worry, I can guide you through the process.

1. Start by defining your research question: Clearly state what you want to learn about each Hispanic group. For example, "What are the linguistic conventions of Mexican Americans?" or "What are the political conventions of Puerto Ricans?"

2. Begin with online resources: Use search engines like Google or Bing to find relevant information. Start by searching for specific keywords related to the conventions you want to explore. For example, search for "linguistic conventions of Mexican Americans" or "political conventions of Puerto Ricans." Look for reputable websites, academic journals, or government publications that provide accurate and reliable information.

3. Explore cultural and academic databases: Websites like JSTOR, ProQuest, or the Library of Congress have extensive resources on various cultures and ethnic groups. You can search for scholarly articles, books, or research papers related to each Hispanic group to gain more in-depth knowledge.

4. Visit university or public libraries: Libraries often have dedicated sections for ethnic studies or multicultural resources. Ask a librarian for assistance in finding books, journal articles, or other reference materials specific to Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans, Cuban Americans, and Salvadoran Americans.

5. Consult academic experts: If you have access to professors, advisors, or experts in the field, reach out to them for guidance or recommendations. They may provide insights or direct you to relevant resources that can enhance your understanding of the conventions of these Hispanic groups.

6. Consider primary sources: Primary sources such as interviews, surveys, or firsthand accounts can provide valuable information about linguistic, political, socio-economic, religious, and familial conventions. Look for books, articles, or documentaries that incorporate primary source materials.

7. Use online forums or communities: Join online forums, groups, or social media communities that focus on Hispanic cultures or identities. Engaging with individuals from these communities can provide personal perspectives and experiences that can enrich your paper.

8. Take notes and organize your findings: Keep track of the information you find by taking notes, highlighting key points, or creating an outline. This will help you structure your paper and ensure you cover all the necessary conventions for each Hispanic group.

Remember, conducting thorough research takes time and effort. Be patient, persistent, and stay organized throughout the process. Good luck with your paper!
