Find the exact values for the lengths of the labeled segments a, b and p drawn in green, red, and blue, respectively. Note that r=9 is the radius of the circle, and s=8 is the arc length from the point (9,0) around the circle to the indicated point.

*i found everything but P?

you asking, or telling?

I get the feeling there's some missing info here, yeah?

nor do I, since you have given no information about where P is.

P is a line segment from s=8 to x-axis, next to b

Of course, with no diagram, and no colored lines, I still have no picture, but when you say

a = 9 cos(8/9)
b = 9 sin(8/9)

it sounds like we have a triangle whose hypotenuse is the line from (0,0) to (a,b). Its height is b and its base on the x-axis is a.

If we label the diagram such that
O = (0,0)
Q = (a,b)
Y = (0,b)
X = (a,0)
S = (9,0)
then the arc SQ has length 8.

Since b is the vertical height of the triangle, I'm not sure just what "P is a line segment from s=8 to x-axis, next to b" means.

It's like pulling teeth to get any information from you.

If you don't like my description above, please provide one of your own, naming each point in the diagram, and where it is.

ok ty, its complicated and i was trying to add the diagram but i can't. my explanation probably won't help cause I'm not good at it lol ill just leave this part of my quiz blank, thx though buddy!

a=9cos(8/9)

b=9sin(8/9)
i don't know how to calculate p

P is the hypotenuse of a right triangle. You know how to calculate that.
