Does #1 mean #2 or #3?
If 'can' means 'ability,' #1 means #2.
However, if 'can' means 'permission,' #1 mean #3. Is that right?

All mean approximately the same thing, but 1 can be used as a dismissive command!

The verbs "can" and "able" mean the same thing. Technically, "may" is the verb needed for permission.
