You can't solve for anything unless there is an equation, and an equaltion must have a EQUALS sign. For instance:
-4.9t^2 - 28t=0
t(-4.9t-28)=0
either t=0, or t=28/4.9
-4.9t^2 - 28t
-4.9t^2 - 28t=0
t(-4.9t-28)=0
either t=0, or t=28/4.9
