Lily has 12 balloons. 5 are blue, 3 are red and the rest are green. What fractions of the balloons is green? Give your answer in its simplest form.

1. Total balloons = 12
Let x = # of green balloons

12 = 5+3+x
12 = 8+x
x= 4

# of green balloons/total balloons = 4/12 = 1/3

1/3 of the balloons are green.
