I believe transparency is more important for NPOs because they depend upon donations. The only charity I contribute to is Loaves and Fishes because I trust that organization to use my money to feed the hungry. We all get so many ads to contribute to charities, it's almost impossible to sort out the scams and the poorly run organizations from the well-run groups.
