  1. Language reflects culture. The very words in each languge come with an array of meanings in that culture. Culture is what makes us what we are, how we think, and how we interact with each other. Preserving language helps to maintain our culture and beliefs. English may be the language of "opportunity", but English has its own cultural roots.
