I have to do an essay analysis and it's asking me for the topic sentence, supporting points, and a paragraph response. I have a few questions.
topic sentence, how do you know which is the correct one?
supporting points, is it in your opinion? and how would you find the good supporting points?
Paragraph response, what would make a good one?
Somewhere in the sixth grade, you missed a lesson. It is not too late, however, it does require practice.

You can practice by summarizing. In this essay, after you read it, summarize it in your mind (or in a brief outline form). Then look for the topic sentence, and supporting points.
Now please don't think this is some stupid exercise you can skip....this is a very essential college skill, and a life skill. Folks will snow you with words, the educated person can summarize and outline arguments in their mind rather quickly. Analysis is a valuable skill.
