James wants to reserve a room at the party hall for his birthday. The deposit is $175 and for 6 hours it cost $625. What percent of the cost of the room is the deposit? Can someone show me how to work this problem out?

  1. just divide the deposit by the total:

    175/625 = 0.28 = 28%
