However I also need the answer and I believe that it may have had to be because he was too embarrassed to be hanged in front of those who used to support him

Q: Why does History Portray Marie Antoinette as a disrespectful person
A: Because she was the reason many believed France became poor, since she cared more about clothes and jewlry rather than the peoples health or the economy

Question: why did people believe after the King's execution that the revolution would live

A: They believed that after everything they went through that their terror days were over and France would be a new place
The cart was thought a good idea because the public could see the person being transported, jeer at them, humiliate them, etc. If they walked, they would not be visible to the public.
Marie Antoinette was a symbol of royal excess, not necessarily the cause of poverty -- royal excess was perceived as one of the causes of poverty.

A: Because those who didn't want the revolution where traitors and didn't want France to be better

People tend to be blood thirsty. And the guillotine is certainly more dramatic than hanging.
