1. I'm very glad to hear that because I love bulgogi!

2. I'm very glad to hear that because I love Bulgogi!

Do we have to use 'bulgogi' or 'Bulgogi'?

(bulgogi:A Korean dish made from sliced beef that has been marinated in soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, sugar, and other ingredients and grilled,)

My mother-in-law got a good recipe for the bulgogi marinade from a friend of hers. We had this frequently when we visited her in summer! Mmmmm!

There doesn't seem to be any rule about this. As you can see in the different dictionaries linked here, sometimes the 'b' is capitalized, sometimes not:

The choice between using 'bulgogi' or 'Bulgogi' depends on the specific writing style or convention that you are following.

1. When referring to the Korean dish in a general sense, it is common to use 'bulgogi' with a lowercase 'b.' This is because 'bulgogi' is a noun that describes a type of food.

2. However, if you are using 'Bulgogi' with an uppercase 'B,' it could indicate that you are referring to a specific dish or using it as a proper noun. For example, you might use 'Bulgogi' to reference a famous bulgogi restaurant or a specific recipe called "Bulgogi."

The important point is to be consistent in your usage throughout your writing. Whether you choose 'bulgogi' or 'Bulgogi,' make sure to use the same form each time you mention the dish.

If you have a style guide or specific writing guidelines you are following, it's always a good idea to consult them for the correct capitalization.
