Can someone correct these for me please..

Find the value of the polynomial
8x – 6 when x = 1 and when x = –1.

My answer:
So when x = 1 the value of the polynomial is: 2And when x = -1 the value of the polynomial is: -14

Multiply. (x – 8)2
Answer: x^2-16x+16

You first answer is correct, but the second has a problem.

Assuming that you mean (X-8)^2, what do you get when you multiply -8 by -8?

I hope this helps. Thanks for asking.

so then -8 (-8)= 64

so then it would be x^2+64x+16

Actually, there's still a mistake in your calculation. When you multiply -8 by -8, you get a positive 64 since multiplying two negative numbers gives a positive result.

So the correct answer for (x - 8)^2 is x^2 - 16x + 64.

Thank you for bringing this up, and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
