I have a rectangle MNOP ~ rectangle STUV. What is the length of line TU??
First rectangle is MNOP with 10 on top and 4 on the side.
Second rectangle is STUV. With the top marked X for the unknown number and n the side is 6.
I need help solving this. Do you guys think you can help??
You want to compare length to length and width to width to make your ratio.
10/4 = x/6
cross multiply: 60 = 4x
x = 15
Check the answer to see if you get the same ratio
10/15 is that the same as 4/6
Yes.. they both reduce to 2/3.
this is for the writing question
The measure of TU is 15.
We set up a proportion to solve this. Using the similarity statement, we know that MN is proportional to ST, NO is proportional to TU, OP is proportional to UV, and PM is proportional to VS.
NO/TU = OP/UV
10/x = 4/6
Cross multiply to solve it:
10*6 = x*4
60 = 4x
Divide both sides by 4:
60/4 = 4x/4
15=x
Villain Deku, this is written response. what are you talking about?
I think John is right
15=x
Y’all I just want a simple answer <3
NO/TU = OP/UV
10/x = 4/6
Cross multiply to solve it:
10*6 = x*4
60 = 4x
Divide both sides by 4:
60/4 = 4x/4
15=x
he is right tysm your welcome for an extra copy
