2. x over 3 - 10 = 12
3. x over 4 + 10 = 14

why can you not just say x/3 instead of the "over"? sheesh.

-9p-17 = 10
-9p = 27
p = -3

x/3 - 10 = 12
x/3 = 22
x = 66

and so forth.
