How do you solve this problem?

1 - 3/4(v+2) = -5

You must focus on using

(Distributive Multiplication)

You must take care of the Parenthesis 1st
(PEMDAS)

1- 3/4(v+2) = -5

(3/4 x V = 3/4v ) (3/4 x 2 =1.5)

1- 3/4v + 1.5 = -5

Regroup
1+1.5= 2.5
2.5 -3/4v = -5

We must keep the variable on one side.
We must subtract 2.5 from both side to make sure the variable (v)is on one side.

2.5 - 3/4v = -5
- 2.5 - 3/4v = -5 - 2.5
--------------------------
-3/4v = -7.5

We must multiple each side by 4 to get a real number.( The denominator is 4 in the fraction)

((4)x -3/4v= -3v ) 4 x -7.5 = - 30

-3v = -30
We must make sure that the variable (v)
stands alone. In order to do that we must divide bot sides by -3

(-3v/-3= v) ( -30/-3= 10)

ANSWER: V = 10
