Okay I need to know something about cell phones and land lines.

My parents can't answer this because we don't have a land line anymore. We just have cells phones.

Okay my question is if someone with a cell phone calls a land line person long distance will that land line person get charged a long distance fee?

I know its a werid question but what is your experience?

When I call my parents on their landline from my cell phone, I'm the only one who gets charged.

When they call me on my cell phone, we both get charged!

=)

P.S. And with some services there is no charge to call someone on your service if you have enough minutes! My niece and newphew gave up their landline. However that is not good for people coming from out of town that do not have their cell phones! They have to call them at work. That is not good either!

To answer your question about whether a land line person will get charged a long-distance fee when receiving a call from someone with a cell phone, it depends on the specific phone plan and provider that the land line person has. Land line providers typically have different calling plans that may include or exclude long-distance charges.

In the scenario you mentioned, where you call your parents on their landline from your cell phone, it seems that you are the one who gets charged for the long-distance call. This makes sense because you are the one making the call from your cell phone, and your cell phone provider is responsible for the charges associated with the call.

On the other hand, when your parents call you on your cell phone, both parties may get charged depending on the respective phone plans. It's possible that your cell phone plan includes charges for receiving calls from land lines, or your parents' land line plan may have additional charges for calling cell phones.

It's important to note that phone plans and charges vary depending on the provider and specific plan chosen. Some cell phone plans offer unlimited minutes for local and long-distance calls, while others may have specific limitations or charges. Similarly, land line plans may have different calling options and charges.

To get accurate and up-to-date information about the charges for calling between different types of phones and locations, it is best to consult your specific phone service provider. They will be able to provide the most accurate information about any potential fees or charges related to specific calls.
