Please review the question and check my answer below. Thank you tutors.

Q: Which of the Big 5 companies were started by missionaries or their sponsors?
My answer: Alexander & Baldwin & (and) Castle & Cooke.

I also got my answer from a reading I was given from my teacher, and I don't want to cite it. I forgot to add this to my last questions: I am supposedly studying for an exam, but wasn't given any answers to the questions I was given and I have to find or figure it out myself, but I would want clarification from, you tutors. Thank you once again.

See your other post and double-check everything.

I don't know how to check my answer ... I could only check with the other students in my class, and only girls, and this is what one of them told me. That's why I'm checking on this site. Sorry for the confusion, but this is for an exam and I don't need to cite anything (or at least that's what I think).

I mean to double-check to make sure you are not plagiarizing. Even on an exam, teachers can nail you for plagiarizing!

Errrrrr, even if I was given a reading from my teacher that has already been cited by her? Sorry, I'm really stubborn. Also, is my answer correct? I really just want to have it checked, since I can't check with other people right now. My answers in my other posts are just guesses, and I am undetermined if they are correct.

Do what you want.

My suggestion is that you always cite, even if not required -- for your own protection.

Okay, thank you Writeacher for the advice. But, can you please check my answer? I still don't know if I'm correct or not (and I don't think anyone else will tag along and check), but I think from the past replies, I will have to say a yes?

Based on your answer, it seems like you are on the right track, but there is some missing information. Alexander & Baldwin and Castle & Cooke were indeed two of the Big Five companies in Hawaii's history. However, they were not started by missionaries or their sponsors, but rather by entrepreneurs Henry A. Baldwin, Samuel T. Alexander, and Amos F. Cooke.

To find out which of the Big Five companies were started by missionaries or their sponsors, you could try the following steps:

1. Start by researching the history of the Big Five companies in Hawaii. The Big Five refers to the major companies that dominated the Hawaiian economy from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century.
2. Look for information about the founders or origins of each of the Big Five companies. Some of the well-known Big Five companies include Castle & Cooke, Alexander & Baldwin, C. Brewer & Co., Theo H. Davies & Co., and Amfac.
3. Pay attention to details about the founders or early leaders of each company. Look for any references to missionaries or their sponsors in the company's history.
4. Cross-reference your findings with reputable sources, such as books, academic articles, or official company histories, to verify the information.

By following these steps, you should be able to find the correct answer to your question about which of the Big Five companies were started by missionaries or their sponsors. Always remember to cite your sources when using information from external texts to avoid plagiarism. Good luck with your studies!
