Can you proofread this essay? Thanks!

A man with the last name of Yang and his assistant tried to sell the fur of a panda cub, but the Chinese police captured them. A reporter found out that Yang and his accomplice bought their twenty-four inches long fur seven years ago from a man who lived in Southwestern China.

I can imagine how much pain the baby panda had experienced when the man who sold Yang the fur shed the cub. The poor panda cub must have been cold since there was no fur left to keep it warm. Even worst, the cub possibly died when Yang’s seller shed its fur. Anyone who performs this reprehensible act deserves punishment. Cutting the fur off a panda cub is extremely cruel considering that the giant panda is recognized as one of the world’s most endangered species. There are approximately 1,500 pandas in isolated nature reserves in Sichuan, Gansu, and Shaanxi provinces.

The adored giant pandas can be found in the mountain areas of Southwest China eating mostly bamboo. Some of the problems that the pandas may have faced were natural, but others were because of man. One of the problems is that pandas do not produce many offspring during their lifetime. In addition, the cubs are very small and are vulnerable to leopards, which add to the problem with the panda’s population. Because pandas eat bamboo, this can lead to another problem. Bamboo grows in large patches and different kinds of bamboo blossom in different years. After the pandas have been eaten the bamboo, nothing is left behind. Therefore, the pandas must go from one good patch to another to get their nutrients. The pandas are unable to go further, because humans have destroyed their environment by building cities and roads. Human obstructions endanger the pandas, because the pandas’ space is limited.

To keep the pandas from becoming extinct, the Chinese government created preserves where bamboo grows well and giant pandas are known to live. Furthermore, the delicate panda territory will be protected from any construction and from damages caused by other animals when they graze on any rising seedlings and walk over the emaciated mountain soil. Moreover, the government is trying to introduce pandas to new regions in order to expand their environment. To do this, bamboo corridors, which are strips of land, have been created to help pandas move to the new area and to make more habitats and free space available for the pandas. Thus, this method enables more pandas to move greater distances to look for mates and extend further in the population.

Unfortunately, this improvement and expansion that has been made since is difficult to be perceived or grasped through just one perspective. One picture can only capture the panda’s action; it does not go beyond that. The picture is like a scene, a section of the whole representation.

On the right, there is a panda, and it is holding onto a tree branch. Is the panda trying to climb onto the branch? Is it reaching for the bamboo to eat?

On the left, there are two panda cubs. There are bamboos and grasses surrounding the cubs. Are the cubs fighting or are they playing?

The knowledge is limited to merely what is focused. The history of pandas allows viewers to imagine the story behind the picture. Nevertheless, pictures present images as fragments of a whole piece; they are shattered images. As a result, the images deem incomplete. Regardless of this matter, the experiences and the knowledge of a particular subject can allow viewers to collect their thoughts about a picture based on their acquaintance and familiarity of the subject they are examining. Also, different people make different observations. Therefore, the pictures are left to the interpretations of others, as there are multiple denotations and connotations that can be perceived. Accounting every person’s individualistic ideas, different background, and different experiences or exposures, there is not a way to interpret an image that would satisfy every viewer.

Sadly, the images of pandas may be taken the wrong way. The pandas are adored and beloved, and the major problem with the pandas being endangered is disregarded. The viewer distorts the pictures so that he or she can be contented with the image that is presented.

For example, the picture on the left displays a Chinese feeding four pandas. Viewers can look at the picture and see that the pandas are eating off tin buckets. They may think that the image of the pandas eating is adorable. As evident from their response when people look at the image, they are so indulged with the image of the lovable panda that they take no notice of the problem that the pandas have loss their habitat from logging. Also, people do not realize either that some of the pandas were poached and the pandas’ furs were cut off.

The image can become complex, as it is not straightforward and can be deceiving. The irresistible picture of a panda is just too hard not to be enamored. However, when a viewer makes an assumption about picture is presented before their eyes, the image may not be as one interprets it. A picture can be after all disingenuous and duplicitous. The challenges revolve in interpreting an image. An image does not just embrace one definition, but many from people from different exposures and opinions. The image within itself can also be deceptive. Any captured picture is narrow and restraint from the boundless surrounding. The viewer is challenged by image as one tries attempts to see beyond the boundaries of what the image allows him or her to see. The four sides of an image are cut off: top, bottom, left, and right. The reviewer is only allowed to see the subject that is focused, the subject’s potential movement or state, and items behind, in front, or adjacent. The image can only be analyzed for its quality and what is presented
