Hannah is comparing a rock from a riverbed and a rock from deep underground. One is very smooth, and the other has very rough edges. Explain why each rock was probably found in that location.

Answer: The rock that is very smooth is likely to be the one near the riverbed because the river would probably toss the rock around and weather it down until it is smooth. Therefore, that means that the other rock was most likely found underground.

@always right, you literally copy-pasted what @Hal said were not stupid

ok, yalls here,

The rock found in the riverbed has been smoothed over by the constant passage of water over time which has smoothed out the rock.
The Rock found deep underground has rough edges as it was formed by breaking from a larger rock fragment which formed by the cooling of magma and therefore has jagged edges like crystals.

Right.

You're welcome, Bunny.

lol exposed

Thanks Ms. Sue :)

The rock from the riverbed is smooth because the water washing over it has made it smooth. The rock from deep underground is tough because it has broken off from a larger rock.

the rock from the riverbed is smooth cause the riverbed is a stream and the rock is at the bottom and and the water makes the top smooth by flowing over it so many times and the rough rock is because instead of finding it in the bedrock you find it next to it so nothing is smoothing it out

thx bunny funny
