The line that passes through the point (2, −8) and has a slope of −1 is given by the equation y +[ ] =[] (x −[] )?

Be patient. Apparently there are no math or algebra tutors on line right now. We are volunteers and are not here all the time.

y = -1 x + b

-8 = -1(2) + b
-8 = -2 + b
b = -6
so
y = -1x - 6
or
y+6 = - x

Anyway, I want a raise.

another way:

-1 = (y - -8) / (x - 2)
Maybe the form you want

y + 8 = -x + 2

that is of course the same as
y = -x - 6

Damon -- you've just earned a 5% raise! :-)

Oh, my goodness! Impatient AND rude! I think Damon deserves more than a 5% raise!!

ok look I need help I've been waiting for over an hour and you continue to give me false hope that someone is helping me. So if you can find it in you,please refrain from talking to me because you are becoming a bother and its rather annoying.

If the way im going about this site makes you angry...be a grown up and leave me alone
