5+2x=13 i don't really understand how to get the answer. could u please help?

5+2x=13

First, combine like terms by subtracting 5 from both sides of the equation.

5 - 5 + 2x = 13 - 5
2x = 8
x = ?

i don't think ur begginning makes sene it wouldn't give u the right answer. can u help me with 5+2x=25?

2x = 8

Divide both sides by 2.

x = 4

To prove this we can substitute 4 for x.

5 + (2 * 4) = 13
5 + 8 = 13

Follow the same procedure for your next problem.

ur a great teacher but it's hard to write! i know ur probably stressed right now, but i never get help!

ms sue can u help me with 5+2x= 25?

You've gotten a lot of help here this evening.

Why is this hard to write?

5+2x=13

5 - 5 + 2x = 13 - 5

2x = 8

x = 5

i'm sorry for being rude thanks so much im lucky to have u and that really does help!

i just don't understand like my teacher always told us to put the exponent first and change the equation around. That's y im so confused!

There are no exponents in these problems.

o sorry i meant always put the letter that represents a number first.
