I tried factors of 6 and found
f(2)=0 and f(3) =0
so after successive synthetic divisions I had the factors,
(x+2)(x3)(7x^2  2x  1)
solving (x+2)(x3)(7x^2  2x  1) = 0
x = 2, 3, or (2 ±√32)/14
= 2, 3, or (1 ± 2√2)/7posted by Reiny
