Current can pass through salt solution but not through sugar solution ,why?

I am not a tutor so I am sorry if cause misunderstanding.

You have aqueous solutions that involve salt and sugar as your solutes. The solvent just holds the solute in the solution. However, salts are ionic compounds that completely dissociate(separate) in solution. This means you have separate cations and anions generating electrostatic attractions. The sugars are molecular compounds that do not dissociate into their separate atomic units.
