I need some examples of the ACES format. I didn't really understand it and I only need one example. I need the format for a remake of a test question that needed to be done with ACES.

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps!

Check out some of these websites.

The ACES format is for answering questions. How would you word a question that requires a direct answer with citations and evidence to back up the answer?

I don't know what subject you test question is in, but if it was history, the question might be worded: "How did ideas of enlightened reason influence the writers of the Declaration of Independence?"

Wonderful! I found the perfect website! Thanks Ms. Sue!

Really, it's any question that requires written response as opposed to "true or false" or multiple choice. An essay question.

Fantastic! Thanks Reed as well! The video has helped me as well!

You're welcome, Derpy.

By the way Reed, it's a language arts essay (Hence the subject name) were I thought I had to writes some rites of passage when I actually had to do ACES. The question hadn't explained and I had to do a correction right now to lift my grade back up.

I hope we helped :)

Sure! ACES is a writing strategy that helps organize your thoughts and provide a well-developed response. It stands for Answer, Cite, Explain, and Summarize. Here's an example of how you can use the ACES format to answer a test question:

Original test question: "What effect does deforestation have on the environment?"

Using the ACES format, your response might look like this:

A - Answer: Deforestation has a significant negative impact on the environment.
C - Cite: According to a study published in Nature, deforestation contributes to climate change and habitat loss (Smith, et al., 2018).
E - Explain: When trees are cut down, the carbon dioxide they stored is released into the atmosphere, leading to an increase in greenhouse gas emissions. This, in turn, contributes to global warming and climate change. Additionally, deforestation results in the loss of valuable habitat for countless species, leading to declines in biodiversity.
S - Summarize: In conclusion, deforestation has far-reaching consequences for the environment, including climate change and habitat loss, and it is crucial that we take steps to combat this destructive practice.

To use the ACES format effectively, make sure that your answer is clear and concise. Use credible sources to support your answer (citing them appropriately), and provide a detailed explanation of the information you present. Finally, summarize your argument to provide a strong conclusion to your response.

I hope this example helps you understand how to apply the ACES format to your test question!
