Assuming you meant it the way you typed it ....
multiply each term by 21, the LCD
21x - 3 = 42x - 14x - 21
-7x = -18
x = 18/7
If you meant otherwise, put in the essential brackets
e.g.
(x-1)/7 = 2x - 2/(3x-1) is just one such case
The solutions and answers would be totally different.
