A glass box shaped like a rectangular prism has with 7 inches length 9 inches height 12 inches is being shipped in a larger box with whipped 10 inches length 10 inches in height 15 inches the space between the glass box on the shipping box will with styrofoam peanuts how many cubic inches of space to contain star from peanuts show all work

GB=7*9*12=756 cu. in.

LB=10*10*15=1500 cu in.
1500-156=744 cu in.

Hope this helps everyone :)

just subtract the smaller volume from the larger:

10*10*15 - 7*9*12 = ?

All I know is the answer is 744 cu in of peanuts.

Grace meant 756 instead of 156 for those of you asking.

I agree with boii. There IS a second question. I can't copy and paste my answer (for some reason -_-), so I'm just going to tell you:

You have to break the figure down (it looks like a rocket) into three shapes: A triangle, a rectangle and a trapezoid. Then you have to find the area for each of those shapes, and then add up all the areas.

To find the area of the triangle, so can just simply follow the formula. I, ALSO can't copy and paste that T_T. All you have to do is multiply the height and base together (4 in x 3 in), then divide that product (a product is the answer to a multiplication problem, if you didn't know already;)) by 2. So on my Unit Test, the height is 4 inches and the base is 3 inches. 4 x 3=12. Then 12÷2=6. So the area of the triangle is 6 in (I can't copy and paste the 2 that goes above the "in").

NOW, FOR THE RECTANGLE! I'm sure most of us know the formula for finding the area of rectangles and squares ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). Just multiply the length and width together, and product is your answer! On my Unit Test, the length of the rectangle is 10 in, and the width is 3 in. 10 x 3=30. The area for the rectangle is 30 in. EASY PEESY!

Finally, the trapezoid. To find the area of a trapezoid, you have to add the bases of the trapezoid together, hen multiply that sum by the height. Then divide that product by 2, again. On my Unit Test, the two bases are 3 in and 5 in. The height is 2 in. 3+5=8. 8 x 2=16. 16÷2=8. So now we know the area of the trapezoid is 8 in.

NOW, FOR THE FINALE (sorry not sorry lol), WE ADD THE AREAS UP. 6+30+8=44. So the final answer is the area of the rocket looking figure is 44 in. I really hope this isn't TOO confusing. I hope this helps!

Thank you Grace

There is a second question! Its a shape that looks like a rocket and you need to find the area! If anyone knows this like please say the answer or how to solve it or at least what we should do!

I think he means

Rectangle is 3*10=30
Triangle is 4*3= 12
And trapezoid is 5*2=10

Thankyou.

ChocolateCake4ever you know 4*6=24 right?
