I'm having trouble understanding what "internalized oppression" is.

Can someone please explain

Internalized oppression is when outside forces put a person down and he comes to believe that he's inferior.

what?

i know the definition but i still don't understand.

Read through some of those sites to find a definition you understand.

That's what I've been doing so correct me if I'm wrong...

Internalized oppression is when a person hears a stereotype over and over again by different people and then they start believing and doing it?

Yes. You've got it!

Yay!

Ok so i have another question... Would internalized privileged be when a person is over their head and think they are the higher power?

Yes.

Many young people today are internalized privileged because their parents taught them they could do no wrong and were better than others.
