A famer has twice as many cow as sheep. After he sold 375 cows and another 12 cows died, he had half as many cows as sheep left. How many cows remained.

    2(C-375-12)=S

    PUt the first equation into the second..

    2(C-375-12)=C/2
    1.5C=2*(387)
    C=4/3*387= 4*129=516 and S=258

    Now in the end, number of cows=
    516-375-12= 129 and S=258

  3. you start with 2x the sheep and then subtract 369 and get 1/2 of the sheep. Now you try numbers divide them by 4 then subtract them by 369 and see if the numbers match. The answer to that is 492 / 4 = 123 and 492 - 369 = 123 492 is the first one and 123 is the second part for the cows. Now you do 123 x 2 to find the sheep which is 246. cows-123 sheep-246
