Honestly. If you don't want to open a textbook, get a tutor if you don't understand these varied issues. My experience in teaching tells me you are answer grazing....or you have never opened your texbook. Take 15 for instance, that is pretty basic. as is 16.

Sixteen test problems and you don't know how to do any of them?

There must be a better way to learn this material than asking a bunch of unknown volunteers to explain them all to you.

Let's go through each of the algebra questions one by one and explain how to solve them:

2) To find the equation for a line that passes through two points (-4, -4) and (8, 23), we can use the point-slope form of a linear equation, which is y - y1 = m(x - x1), where m is the slope and (x1, y1) is one of the points on the line.

Step 1: Calculate the slope using the formula: slope (m) = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)
m = (23 - (-4)) / (8 - (-4))
m = 27 / 12
m = 9 / 4

Step 2: Choose one of the points, let's use (-4, -4), and substitute the values into the point-slope formula:
y - (-4) = (9/4)(x - (-4))
y + 4 = (9/4)(x + 4)
y + 4 = (9/4)x + 9
y = (9/4)x + 9 - 4
y = (9/4)x + 5

Therefore, the equation for the line that passes through the points (-4, -4) and (8, 23) is y = (9/4)x + 5.

The correct answer is A: y = 9/4 - 13.

3) To find the rate of change, we need to calculate the difference in the number of entertainment websites between 1995 and 2004, and divide it by the number of years.

Step 1: Calculate the difference in the number of websites: 929 - 59 = 870.

Step 2: Calculate the number of years: 2004 - 1995 = 9.

Step 3: Divide the difference in websites by the number of years: 870 / 9 = 97.

Therefore, the approximate rate of change for the number of websites between 1995 and 2004 is B: 97 websites per year.

4) To determine the corresponding function notation for the equation Y - 5.38x = -3, we need to isolate the variable Y.

Step 1: Add 5.38x to both sides of the equation: Y = 5.38x - 3.

Therefore, the corresponding function notation for the equation Y - 5.38x = -3 is C: f(x) = 5.38x - 3.

5) The domain of a set of ordered pairs represents the x-values or the inputs. In this case, the x-values for the given set of ordered pairs are: -2, 0, 6, and 8.

Therefore, the domain of the set of ordered pairs (-2, -1), (0, -5), (6, 31), (8, 59) is A: {-2, 0, 6, 8}.

6) The range represents the y-values or the outputs in a function. In this case, the given range for the function Y = (1/2)x + 1 is {0, 2, 5}.

Therefore, the corresponding domain for the given range is A: {-3, 1, 7}.

7) To find the equation of a line that passes through the point (4, 2) and has a slope of 3, we can use the point-slope form of a linear equation.

Step 1: Substitute the slope (m = 3) and the coordinates of the point (4, 2) into the point-slope formula: y - y1 = m(x - x1)
y - 2 = 3(x - 4)

Step 2: Simplify the equation:
y - 2 = 3x - 12
y = 3x - 10

Therefore, the equation of the line is C: y = 3x - 10.

8) To find the range of the given data, we need to identify the output values.

From the given table:
The output values are: 24, 25, 26, 27, 28.

Therefore, the range of the data is B: {24, 25, 26, 27, 28}.

9) To find the slope of the line given by the linear equation 4x + 7y = 16, we need to rewrite the equation in slope-intercept form (y = mx + b), where m represents the slope.

Step 1: Isolate the y variable:
4x + 7y = 16
7y = -4x + 16
y = (-4/7)x + (16/7)

Step 2: Identify the coefficient of x, which represents the slope.
The slope of the line is -4/7.

Therefore, the answer is C: -4/7.

10) To find the equation of a line with a slope of 8/3 and crosses the y-axis at -8, we can use the slope-intercept form of a linear equation (y = mx + b), where m represents the slope and b represents the y-intercept.

Step 1: Substitute the given values into the slope-intercept form:
y = (8/3)x + (-8)

Step 2: Simplify the equation:
y = (8/3)x - 8

Therefore, the equation of the line is C: y = (8/3)x - 8.
