What is the formula for the frequency of visible light? Using this formula, explain what will happen to the frequency when yellow light (580 nanometers) is slowed down slightly when it passes through a crystal.

The formula for visible light is a new one on me. The speed of light is dictated by the formula C = frequency*wavelength but that works no matter visible or not visible light.

When light passes through a medium it bends slightly(is refracted) because it slows down slightly. That is due to the index of refraction of the material, such as glass.
