Merci Merci beaucoup!

Merci Merci beaucoup Ms.Sue

Il n'y a pas de quoi.

Please understand that we do not DO the work for you. Since you requested the Past Tense as well, you should attempt that FIRST. I'll be happy to check it for you after you do that.

In the meantime, here are some remarks on the Present Tense.

1. Rather than "at" "in" seems better = dans. I'll begin the Past for you = a retrouvé

2. OK

3. OK

4. Rather than "au" "chez" seems better

5. why did you add "cuisinier" when it is not in the English?

6. If you add "le" in front of modified "gout" it seems better. (or "un")

7. "to go wrong" is "faire fausse route" = if you would like to use that and "meanwhile" is "entretemps"

8. des idées (plural) plus "la carte" is also "the menu"

9. "above all" is "surtout" and Matter is a person, isn't he? So "la matière" doesn't work.

10. "meets" = "fait la connaissance de" = if he meets him for the first time; otherwise "rencontre"

11. OK

12. OK

13. "menu" = either "un nouveau menu" or "une nouvelle carte"

14. OK

15. OK

I'll flag this and come back later to see if you have additional questions, plus check your Past Tense in French .

Sra (aka Mme)

Apologize for not putting the past tense earlier but here is what I have but I'm not sure of some of the wordings.

10.) M.Lagarde a rencontré Jacky Bonnot.
11.) Jacky était un chef autodidacte.
12.) Jacky était très créatif dans la cuisine.
13.) M.Lagarde et Jacky a préparé un nouveau menu pour le restaurant.
14.) Ils ont impressionné les critiques.
15). A la fin, Mr.Lagarde et Jacky étaient très heureux.

1. I'd still change "à" to "dans"

2. What is the last word "question" doing there?

3. Don't forget the helping verb "avoir" with the Passé Composé = a spécialisé (not the feminine form, but the masculine on the Past Participle and améliorée is feminine singular like the noun it modifies, not plural. Instead of "matière" why not "cuisine?"

4. OK although the Passé Composé implies that there was an ending to that job. Perhaps "était" might be better.

5. The sentence should begin with "Sa" and not "de" and why is "Question" there instead of "Matter?"..."to plot" is "comploter" = a comploté de faire le classement du restaurant baissé. It seems I missed the Present Tense.)

6. La raison était...not "aux" but "pour les"..avec le (or un) goüt

7. "Entretemps" has no hyphen..."faire fausse route" is "to go wrong" = "ont fait fausse route" dans la cuisine de M. Lagarde.

8. "des idées" = plural..."la carte" is another word for the menu.

9. "Au-dessus de tout cela, M. Matter a diminué" (or a réduit) son personnel (masculine word)

10. Finalement..meets for the first time would be "a fait la connaissance de"

11. OK

12. OK

13. Plural subject = ont préparé (or une nouvelle carteoo)...

14. OK

15. just "happy" would not use "très"

Monumental job! Usually it is best to not write it out in English first, but use the French vocabulary you already know. If you wanted to translate the name "Mr. Matter" it could be "M. Matière."
